Paris Full-Day Rail Tour and Seine Cruise

Very disappointed in tour guide-disconnected from the group. Weather was beautiful until evening so not sure why we didn't go into the Eiffel tower. River cruise- was hard to hear information, not what we thought it would be. Guide was late getting to bus so we missed our bus and by this time it was raining.

The tour guide was nice (Monica I believe was her name).

The tour itself was okay - flying around town on the bus - not a lot of time to really absorb the sights.

We couldn't go up to the second level of the tower due to huge lineups but did get to go to the Louvre; however only got about 2 hours total there which included getting lunch... We did get to go in Notre Dame cathedral and plenty of time was given for shopping - trinkets and souvenirs if its your thing.

We were dropped off at the train station at about 7:30 - leaving well over an hour to sit there waiting for our train back to London...to me that was time wasted!! It would have been better spent seeing an hour more of Paris in my opinion after all that's why I paid extra money to have a guide.

All and all it is a good way to see a few highlights of Paris if you only have one day.

The guide was horrible! Enrique was not informative at all and didnt even talk to us, His timing was off! Rushed with only 5 mins at the Eiffel tower only to wait 45 mins for the cruise! One hour at the museum included eating time. Those who did the self guided tour were able to do everything!

Definitely not enough time to fit everything in that we wanted to say - I recommend skipping the river cruise and staying on the bus to hit all the highlights. I'm not sure that we needed to have the guided tour, but given that we didn't speak French, it seemed to help.

No information on the train about the train or when you leave England or when you arrive in France. Our guide spoke too softly (French good English fair,should be other way around)and unless you were on his toes you could not hear what he was saying. There were no allowances for human needs ie lunch, dinner and toilets. A child continually ran around while the bus was moving on the tour, knocking into other passengers, despite complaints this was allowed to continue all day. Did not go up the Eiffel tower as we were led to believe, but just walked around it. The boat trip up the Seine was enjoyable. Finally we were just dumped at the railway station 1 hour before departure.

While it was exciting to spend the day in Paris it would have been a better experience if the tour guide we had actually explained the sights we were seeing. Only when asked he would answer questions but even then he seemed to be uninterested in sharing his wonderful city with us. The hop on hop off bus allowed us to see all of the famous sights in a quick and easy manner and my daughter and I felt that this tour was perfect for getting a little taste of Paris in a short time. Next time I will skip the tour guide and just rely on the hop on hop off bus to get around.

We took the one day trip on the Eurostar from Paris to London. We received a Hop on / off Bus from the The Paris train stop to the Louvre. We did an independent tour which gave us the freedom to see the Paris sights Museums, Champs-Elysees, Eiffel Tower. We definitely have to stay longer in Paris. One day is NOT enough!

Paris was a thrill and we had a knowledgeable tour guide. A more specific assembly time at
St. Pancras is needed: I was there 75 minutes earlier because I thought the train was leaving at the
6:15 departure time. Please detail that we will go through security after we assemble. We were very rushed
going through Notre Dame. With the crowds, we needed more time. 20 minutes is not enough after waiting 25-30
Minutes in line. I would rather go to the Louvre instead of the Eiffel Tower. It was a good introduction to
Paris.

This trip was a lot of fun. We got to see so many things. It was a little rushed trying to get to everything, but for only having one day in Paris, we got to see all of the major sights. Our guide was friendly and informative and took us to a wonderful restaurant for lunch. Everything was arranged in advance for us which made the trip easier with only one day to explore.

It is unclear when you get to St Pancras where you have to go to catch the Eurostar. The confirmation docs are also unclear when you need to get there. We needed to be there at 6:15 but the confirmation document said 5:30. Guide in Paris was great and made sure we were all taken care of.

The stops on the bus tour were pretty far apart and the stops were jammed with people wanting to get on buses that were already full. We loved Paris but spent too much of it waiting. The Eurostar was delayed coming home by 2 hours so finding transportation back in London at 12:30 am was rough.

Met a representative at St Pancras station who explained the process and gave me my travel packet. In Paris, I did the hop on hop off sightseeing bus that I got to by boarding a bus with the escorted group and a Evans representative that dropped me off at a stop of the sightseeing bus for the unescorted. They would come back at 7pm at that same stop to pick me up to take me to the train station. I unfortunately didn't make it back in time and had to find my own way. In which I got lost and a taxi not being occupied was hard to come by. I had a city map but the streets are confusing to figure out. Had to be back at the train station by 8pm. The classic sights were great to see like the Eiffel tower, Notre Dame and the Louvre. I went in September 2013. It was a little rainy and windy and cool weather. For a day trip it would have been better to do the escorted tour rather than the unescorted. It was still fun to get a taste of the culture.

We had torrential rain from the time we left London through the time we reboarded the train in Paris, so that was unfortunate. However we really appreciated our tour guide Sami in Paris who did everything he could to make the tour enjoyable- able to get us into the Louvre without waiting in the 2 hour line and similarly for Notre Dame Cathedral. We did not go up the Eiffel tower due to the weather conditions, but did enjoy the covered boat ride along the Seine. Had a quick lunch in a cute Boulangerie near Notre Dame. It was a world wind tour but given we only had the one day we were able to hit the highlights of the city.

Paris was beautiful but the Tour "Guide" was really just an "escort." He did not have any real information or history for us. No passion for his job. He was nice enough and got us safely around Paris but it was still a bit of a disappointment. Very over priced for what we received.
